People who are
placed in ‘do or die’ situations will do almost anything to ensure their
survival just as the protagonist of the novel had done. This poem speaks of a
young woman who is face to face with a killer – her husband. Her first
instincts are to protect herself and therefore she has no other option but to
kill him herself: “Though I’d die first indeed. Hard to imagine yourself
through it. Never know what can happen in dire need”. Ultimately - this woman
was willing to become a killer in order to survive.
